Archaeologists Stay Away


With the threat of demonstrations by a recruited army from Glastonbury, Norfolk Archaeology stayed away from Holme Beach on Monday 28th June.

The only 'army' to appear were these five peaceful protestors waiting by the 'henge' on the deserted beach

English Heritage archaeologists are reported as saying they will only return to the 'dig' when there are no more threats of disruption.  They are said to have a JCB parked locally to attempt a lift of the central tree when they do return to work.
