Seahenge Injunction |
Holme-Next-The-Sea Parish Council Chairman, Geoff Needham
travelled to the High Court in London on the 6th July to attempt to get the injunction
against him reversed. (see previous page)
"I have to go down to defend my name". said Mr.
Needham "I am a Common Right Holder and am entitled to be on the beach going
about my lawful business. I have not obstructed the 'dig'. I have been filming
the whole business, but that hardly constitutes obstruction", said Mr. Needham who,
because of the prohibitive cost of employing a barrister, spoke on his own behalf.
The injunction was reversed for him and one of the Druid
protestors who it is understood sits upon one of the English Heritage committees.
It has been reported that English Heritage, who got the
interim injunction against Mr. Needham, Buster Nolan and others, requested and was given a
further injunction excluding all people from approaching the site.
It is expected that the archaeologists will continue to
remove the monument when the tides allow them to do so.
