Sitting on the root effectively called a halt to the work in progress.

There has been much controversy surrounding the decision taken by the authorities to remove this 4,000 year old ancient monument from its site on Holme beach.

Half of the posts have now been removed and the intention was to take away the central root before the summer solstice.
